John Yokley Powerline Park GNCC Race Report

John Yokley Powerline Park GNCC Side by Side Race Report

St. Clairsville, Ohio, October 12, 2013

Big Country Powersports / Yokley Racing UTV Team driver John Yokley finished 2nd Overall and 2nd in the XC1 Modified Class. There were 65 total entries including 26 XC1 Modified teams. John’s guest passenger was Jeremy Laufer with Night Krawler Customs.

Summary

John Yokley was ready to go after a long summer break from GNCC Racing. He wanted to get back on the Podium and back in contention for the championship. The Powerline Park course is one of the better courses for Side by Side racing. It is wide enough to pass in many areas and has technical woods sections, mud holes, rocks and wide open field areas.

The weather was perfect, sunny and warm. At the start, John got a good start and completed lap 1 in 4th place. He worked his way up to 2nd on lap 2, battling for the overall lead. He swapped positions several times throughout the 6 lap, 1 hour race. He finished in 2nd overall, right behind his Uncle, William Yokley.

It was a great finish for the Big Country Powersports Polaris RZR XP 900, and put John in 2nd position for the overall season championship points. The GNCC season finale is in 2 weeks at the Ironman in Crawfordsville, IN on October 26.
