Veedersburg, IN (September 19, 2025) – After missing the last event with a towing vehicle breakdown on the way to the event, John Barnes and the Yokley Racing team was eager to put the RZR Pro XP to work. Veedersburg is a small town right outside of Crawfordsville which has notoriety in the MX Nationals. Saturday was a nice day in the 80’s, but with little rain in recent weeks, dust was significant in the fields.
The SxS event started at 6:00 PM EST to the green flag as the Land Rush of side by sides took off from dead engine. Barnes found himself in 7th going into the woods. Barnes commented, “The dust was unbearable in the first mile of fields. I knew that if anyone pushed with no visibility they would start dropping like flys.” Barnes was able to capitalize on mistakes as guys went off course or got hung up in a narrow passage. After the 1st lap, the team was in 4th.
For laps 2-4, Barnes focused on using the vision he had to not hit a tree. The course was much tighter than any of the season thus far. Barnes added, “Putting the laps in was harder than I anticipated. There were spots that the Pro XP just would not fit through and creativity had to step in.”
On the final lap, Barnes passed into the lead by way of a competitor breaking down bringing home a last minute podium on a crazy dusty and tightly wooded day.
As the season comes to an end in the coming weeks, Yokley Racing has logged 4 wins and a combined 8 podiums showing RZR dominance in the East.
